Meet Dr. Bryan Payne, D.C.
Dr. Payne earned his degree in Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic West. He previously owned and operated a successful practice in San Jose, CA for over 20 years. Throughout his journey as a chiropractor, he has had the privilege of helping countless individuals achieve better health and well-being through personalized chiropractic care.
In 2025, Dr. Payne decided to relocate himself to the East Bay to take over a practice in Castro Valley formerly known as Guliford Chiropractic, as his predecessor, Dr. John Guilford, settled into retirement. He is joined in his new location by his Office Manager, Michaela Rice, and his loyal companion, Coco the Golden-doodle.
A message from Dr. Payne: “I have been married to my wonderful spouse, Kim, for 30 years. Kim and I have 3 boys. Tyson (24), Jayden (22), and Zach (18). Family is at the heart of everything I do. We enjoy spending quality time together, whether it's exploring the outdoors, Golfing , or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home. Our family values the importance of a healthy lifestyle, and we are excited to become an active part of this wonderful community.”

For your first visit to Redwood Chiropractic, plan on 30minutes to allow our staff to get to know you and for Dr. Payne to speak with you about your health goals and needs. Follow up appointments typically take between 10-15 minutes. For all appointments, please give yourself extra time to find parking in our private lot.

Yes, Redwood Chiropractic does accept most major insurance carries including Kaiser, Landmark, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Aetna, Alignment, and more. We also accept Medicare. Please call 510-886-7515 before your first visit if you would like us to confirm your benefits.

You do not need to do anything particular to prepare for a chiropractic treatment! Some patients prefer to wear loose fitting clothing, but that is a personal preference (not a necessity).

For patients who are new to chiropractic, we recommend coming back the following week to meet with Dr. Payne to give you a chance to voice any concerns and to ensure your adjustment went as expected. After that, the cadence of your treatment will be up to you and Dr. Payne (to determine what is best).

Dr. Payne will help you with a treatment plan to maintain optimal musculoskeletal health between adjustments. For many patients this will include light stretching. For others, we sell a variety of orthotics (such as insoles & braces) that will keep you feeling well between visits.
